So I am still recovering from the crash but here is a little about Dean and
Ed! Will try and get more very soon!
Ed
Roland
Born on August 3rd, 1963 (That makes him 38 in 2001)
Grew up in Stockbridge, Georgia. His father was a preacher. When he was 8
his father became the minister of a Baptist church in Stockbridge. Being a
southern Baptist Ed's father didn't allow rock music in the house, so Ed would
go to one of the other guys houses to listen to this music. He studied
guitar at Berklee College of Music. After he was done there he went on to
work at Reel to Reel recording studio, owned by Will Turpin's father. He
spent several years working behind the boards, making demo's for local
bands. This gave him the opportunity to use the studio when ever he wanted
to. In his spare time he would cut the songs he had written on piano and
guitar. These songs would soon be released on CD "Hints, Allegations,
and Things Left Unsaid."
Dean
Roland
Born October 10th, 1971 (That would make him 30 in
2001)
Dean Roland has only been playing guitar for about 11 years. As like Ed,
Dean lived in a household with a father that didn't much appreciate rock
music. However unlike his brother, Dean could pretty much listen to
anything he wanted to. He says that his best friends were Shane and Will
and he spent a lot of time with them. Dean hadn't been in a band before
Collective Soul. He had only been playing guitar for 3 years before the
band hit it big with the album "Hints..."
